Josie Balkowski discovered her passion for writing as a first grader the day she handed in her very first Young Authors book. Her six page book became the first of many that inspired her to a career in the written arts. It was a series of patient and dedicated teachers through elementary and high school that fueled her passion for creative writing and opened her eyes to the possibility of becoming an author. She graduated Maxima Cum Laude with a BA in English/Writing as well as a BA in Psychology from La Salle University in Philadelphia where she was hired as a University Writing Fellow to work with student classes to improve their written skills. Since then, she has become a wife and mother and thrown herself into writing her first two fiction novels. She founded San Diego Scribblers as a way to bring the art of writing to children who otherwise might not have the opportunity to explore all that it has to offer. Josie is a member of the Publishers & Writers of San Diego and writes monthly articles for the Mission Times Courier on behalf of the Mission Trails Girl Scout Service Unit.
